The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) has resumed payment of Covid-19 Temporary Employer/Employee Relief Scheme (TERS) benefits after a 24-hour delay which was necessitated by the need to address some control deficiencies in the Covid TERS online payment system. This is the usual step where, if the UIF picks up problems, whether in relation to governance or to further stress-test and enhance the system, the payments get suspended to deal with the matter at hand for a certain period, says the organisation.
